Leviathan (リバイアサン Ribaiasan) is a very large, bio-engineered dragon-like monster (kaiju) appeared in the Doraemon: Nobita's Great Adventure in the South Seas.
About
Leviathan is an artificial bio-weapon with chimeric features. It generally bears reptilian aspects with additional but limited characteristics of other animal orders such as its rhino-like nostril and elephantine tusks. Its scales are notably durable to completely withstand missiles. Despite its size, it is agile underwater and swims fast enough to free from Time Patrol's encirclement.
Its sheer size, being 263 meters in length, along with its physical strength and durability makes it the most powerful subject created by Doctor Clone. It is capable of instantly destroying and capsizing Captain Kid's ship "Sharg", and was even able to annihilate Mr. Cash's basement solely. An anesthetic agent from the 22th Century also doesn't have much effect on it.
While being dangerous, it isn't violent by nature unless someone maliciously controls it.
History
Leviathan attacking Captain Kid's ship.
At some point in the past, Doctor Clone created Leviathan as the ultimate subject of his experiments with financial supports from Mr. Cash.
During the final battle, Cash released the monster as the last resort. Luffin instructed Suneo Honekawa to calm it with an anesthetic agent, and Suneo shot an anesthetic gun from a Time Machine. However, the agent was effective only for a brief moment, and the monster went rampage and began to destroy Cash's base. During the havoc, Doraemon and Cash accidentally fell off and were swallowed by Leviathan.
However, the Dream Checking Machine was unintentionally activated during their quarrel within its stomach, and the machine began to pinch its gastric walls, and the two began to tickle it, making the kaiju to spit them out. However, it kept suffering from the machine within its stomach, and eventually destroyed and sank the villain's hideout.
While most other creatures of Doctor Clone were eventually captured by the Time Patrol, Leviathan broke out of their encirclement and went missing. However, the Time Patrol eventually decided to overlook as they speculated it being not hazardous as long as being left alone.
Afterward, it had been occasionally witnessed thorough human history, and became the inspiration source for legends and folklore about sea serpents and other sea monsters, including the mythological Leviathan itself.
